Find Out if Your Poodle is Healthy

There is really no standard Poodle Puppy Healthy weight. Poodles are measured more on its height and not on its weight. The height of poodles depends on its type. There are three major types of poodles: Standard, Miniature and Toy. The Standard poodle is the biggest of all three types and the Toy poodle is the smallest. Because of the high demand for smaller dogs, two other types that are smaller than the Toy poodle have been developed, the Tiny Toy and Teacup poodles. Naturally, the smaller the poodle puppy is, the more expensive it would be. Smaller poodles are difficult to breed and since they are so small, they should be taken cared of more carefully than most dogs.

A Poodle Puppy Healthy Weight for a Standard poodle is at 4.2 pounds at 14 weeks old. And since the Teacup poodle is way smaller than the Standard poodle it has lesser weight. It is considered to be healthy if at 14 weeks it weighs around 2 to 3 pounds. Males more often weigh bigger than female poodles so do not feel uncomfortable if your female poodle weighs less than the male poodle of your neighbor.

A way to check if your pet poodle is healthy is to place her on a table and make her face away from you. Out your hands around her and feel her rib cage. If you can feel the ribs clearly and could count them, your poodle might not have a Poodle Puppy Healthy Weight. If you touch her spine and could count the vertebrae then your poodle

should be fed more because it is too thin.
